Witness interview

Antonina C. recalls: "Germans simply drove out the Jews from their homes. They took them in a kind of ditch, where something had to construct, and shot them at the edge of this one." (Witness N°120, interviewed in Dobrushyne on December 29, 2004).

Historical note

During the war, there was a Jewish kolkhoz in Dobrushyne called “Imieni Molotov” created in 1930. The Jewish and non-Jewish children went to the same school. The Germans occupied the village in October 1941.

Holocaust by bullets in figures

According to Yahad’s witness, Antonina C. (N°120), the Jews were shot in 1942. The Germans took them from their homes in order to take them to a pit. This big execution took place to the location of a shop and lasted only one day. Antonina C. remembered that a Jewish boy friend of her brother was shot because he tried to escape. The other Jews who tried to escape were shot in the cemetery.
