Witness interview

Witnesses interviewed: 6. (N°604, 605, 606, 607, 675, 676). Boguslav N. (N°604): "The Germans gathered 700 Jews of Demyankovtsy. There was a mine from where gravel was ewtracted; they took those Jews there. They took them into the mine where the water rose until their knees. Afterwards, the entrance was exploded and Jews were suffocated inside."

Soviet archives

RG-22.002M/7021-64/798. "In April 1942, just over 2,000 people from the Jewish population (men, women and children) were brought to a phosphate mine. By blowing up the entrance opening of the mine, they were buried underground. Thus, all these people were buried alive."
