Witness interview

Witnesses interviewed: 3. (N°1418, 1419, 1420). Petro Stepanovych I. (N°1419): "The length of the pit was about 10 meters. I was requisitioned, along with other boys, by the police to fill the pit, because the adults were too afraid. They ran away. That is why we, the boys, were forced to do it. There were about 10 or 15 boys there who were requisitioned to fill the pit. And when we filled the pit, there was an unbearable smell."

RG-22.002M/7021-71/119: "At the exit of the village of Dyven, on the grounds of the former brickyard, in June 1942, the German-fascist invaders proceeded with a massive shooting of innocent Soviet citizens, escorted in groups to pits dug in advance."
