On October 21, 1941, around 1,200 Jews  from the ghetto of Rudnya, especially the elderly and children, were shot in an anti-tank trench near Kapustino. On February 24, 1942, the Germans gathered in columns the last 300 Jews in order to send them to the ghetto of Rudnya. They were brought in the same trench and were shot.
