Nadezhda I. (N°269): "They were carried by trucks. There were two secondary mass graves, very long and very wide. They were killed in the groups they arrived in by truck along the edge of the mass grave. The children were snatched from their parents’ hands and thrown into the mass graves."

Soviet archives

RG-22.002M/7021-81/102. "At the end of June 1942, many Czechoslovakian families were transported in special rail cars from different Czechoslovakian cities to Baranovichi. They were mostly intelligentsia: doctors, engineers, teachers, etc. There were about 2,000 people. When the Czechoslovakians arrived, they were ordered to leave their things in the cars, to get on the trucks and go have lunch. The lunch was merely a pretext. They were transported two kilometers from the city, to a place called "Gaj", and they were shot. Some of them were killed in the gas vans on the road."
