Witness interview

Vladimir A., born in 1932, saw the shooting of Jewish men from Kamen: "The grave was dug the day before the shooting. The Jews dug it themselves. They knew it was for them. In the village, everybody knew that the Jews would be killed”. (Witness N°163, interviewed in Pohost Zagorskiy, on August 05, 2009)

Soviet archives

“In the autumn of 1941, the Germans took the Jews from Pohost Zaharodski to a field located 300m from the village of Kamen. They had to undress down to their underwear. They were killed on the edge of the grave with a bullet to the neck.” [Deposition of Filip S., born in 1899, living in Kamen. He was forced to fill in the pit the day after the shooting; RG22.022M.7021-90/32]
