1 Killing site(s)
Maria G. remembers : "Once they arrived at the shooting site, the Jews came down by themselves from the wagon which had brought them, but the policemen shouted at them to come down faster. Immediately after, the Jews aligned themselves in front of the pit." (Witness N°1611, interviewed in October, 2012)
Novopetrykivka is a small village south west of Donetsk. It was under German occupation between 1941 and 1943.
Native Western Jews took refuge in the village, accommodated by local inhabitants. They were killed in the said place “Kruchi” in a clay pit. Today there is no monument at this place and it serves more or less as a dump.
