Fedora S.: "Jews from various cities worked at the quarry. Near this quarry, there was a barn for tractors. The Jews were locked up in this barn. They slept on the straw. There were 10 Jews who cooked and for whom we brought provisions. There were approximately 500 Jews locked up there." (Witness N°1022, interviewed in Kalnyshivka, on August 18, 2010)
Kolnyshivka is a small village on the main road between Vinnytsia and Uman. The village was under German occupation between 1941 and 1944.
A camp was created in buildings close to a quarry, near the village, which also accommodated Jews from Transnistria. They had to work in the quarry for the construction of the main road DG IV, which went from Lviv to the Caucasus. The Jews were killed in a field just behind one of the camp buildings.
