Saveli G. : "This pit was 15m long and 3m wide. The Jews positioned themselves around the pit. I recognized some Jews who worked with me. There were mothers who threw their children in the pit. The Jews arrived at the edge of the pit in groups while the others waited in the trucks. The Germans formed a corridor with dogs. The Jews were clothed when shot." (Witness N°1034, interviewed in August, 2010)
Perepelychya , close to Chukiv, is a small village on the main road between Vinnytsia and Uman. The city was under German occupation between 1941 and 1944.
Jews imprisoned in a camp in Chukiv were put to work, constructing a German military airfield close to Perepelychya. They were shot in a pit on the grounds of the airfield.
