Entrevista del testigo

Sergey P.: “Closed metal trucks arrived and stopped next to these large graves. The doors were opened and blue smog poured out. There were a lot of dead, naked corpses inside. The Germans wore green uniforms. There were some local and foreign policemen who wore white armbands." (Eyewitness N°613, interviewed in Polykovichi, on April 30, 2012)

In the village of Polykovichi, Mogilev region, the German monsters burned and buried alive Soviet citizens en masse. One witness described the events: 'In the spring of 1943, I was ordered by the Germans to dig a pit. When it was ready, two trucks full of children aged from 3 to 12 arrived. The Germans threw them alive in the pit, shot them dead and filled it in, although around sixty children were buried alive.” [Report of the Soviet extraordinary commission, drawn up in 1944; RG22.022M/7021-88/50]

Nota histórica

Polykovichi is a small farm village first mentioned in 1501. It is famous for its well with water considered to have healing properties.

The execution was carried out by the German security police and local auxiliary police. The Jews were slaughtered in forest of Bezvoditsa. [no more information available]
